Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one especially Mr and Mrs TA and Holly.
I was up at dawn, or so it seemed. Taking the car in for 2 new tyres and then going on to Aldi. I had booked everything on line, when I got to the tyre place they could not find the order and did not have the tyres I ordered in stock, could I come back......'no'. eventually they found some similar tyres slightly cheaper and fitted them, checked the tracking etc, so ended up with a bill for just under £100.
Aldi was quite busy when I got there, shopping done and on my way home just after 10am so not too bad.
Its a dullish morning, quite a breeze, but muggy too......we could do with a good storm to clear the air.
Chap came re the kitchen floor etc yesterday, the floor has dried out, some of the floor has to be replaced and he has sourced some similar panels for the sink unit. Coming tomorrow morning. I will not be here, promised to take a neighbour to hospital save her waiting on ambulances.......should be home before lunch, her appointment is early so there should not be a delay. I am not looking forward to it I must admit. Will clear the sink surface after lunch incase they are able to start this afternoon. I can manage without the sink for one night using a washing up bowl on the kitchen table. The washer has to come out all the under the sink stuff is being re-plumbed. He also gave me £10 for the extra electric. It will get added into the bill. I have to leave the floor in the wet room for a while longer, will have to see if I can get an offcut of vinyl for it and then I can put the shelves with the towels on back in. We might then return to normal. (I hope)
Sausage casserole for supper will cook it in the remoska, just have to cook the veg on the stove. There may be strawberries again tonight....0 -
Hello all
Firstly before I forget.....
Nelski good luck for tomorrow, wishing that all goes well and you have a speedy recovery :A.
Camelot I hope the eye treatment goes well.
TA my heart goes out to you and Mr TA. I am sending you my support and love.
Now on to today.
Neither Mr Fix It or myself slept very well, he was snoring and I was coughing. So I'm not firing on all cylinders today. Who said " what's new !!!" :rotfl:
We have been to Li*l for the usual bread and milk, Mr Fix It fancied some cherries too. Blummin heck they cost an arm and a leg !
I have put a load in the WM although the weather is overcast it is quite breezy, so I hope it will dry on the line.
After lunch I shall empty the DW and put the Halogen oven back together, as I cleaned that last night.
I have to do some more ironing, if I do an hour a day it doesn't seem so daunting. It's mainly holiday clothes and they'll be back in use from the 16th anyway.
Dad's coming to tea, so Mr Fix It is making his version of faggots and peas. What's the betting my kitchen will look like a bomb has gone off when he's finished
.
Anyway I'm off to hang the washing out.
Take care and the hug bucket is full so please help yourselves.

Nelski best of luck tomorrow. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon folks - another late start from me.
I wasn't too well this morning so went back to bed after my shower. Digestion problem! Now I feel 'wabbit' - worn out and sort of drained. I'm up and sitting with both doors wide open to get air and heat in. I've just had a bowl of soup and toast and hoping for the best.
Later on I've got another VC meeting to sit through. Then I'll probably go back upstairns to read.
Nelski - I hope your op goes really well.0 -
Well it appears someone doesnt like my facebook posts (again). Ive been put in Facebook jail once and am in there again.
I'm closing my account.
Grump has had a phone call from someone to do with the cavity wall insulation we had put in the house in 2013. Apparently there has been lots of problems with the company/materials used. Ive not had a problem with it myself... just the odd patch of damp round the windows that mainly was due to lack of ventilation but Grump has always said its affected his breathing. We will have to discuss it the weekend and decide whether its something we want to go further with. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks for starting us off btdt :T
nmlc, enjoy your days off & I hope the weather perks up
camelot, wishing a speedy recovery from the eye procedure
TA, so sorry about MrTAIt seems that it is one step forward & two back
But hopefully there will soon come a time when it is two forward & only one back. Wish there was something we could do other than send virtual hugs & good wishes. Pixie cut a la Twiggy ?
tru, are you sure your plants aren’t Triffids :rotfl: Can you just sit in the garden with a glass of wine & admire the work you have already done
Holly, hope today is a better day & that you manage to get to the seaside. Re the eye test, could you get that done & then order the glasses online to keep the cost down? I keep seeing those TV ads but don’t know if they do things like tints etc.
Lainey, sounds like you had a lovely time with your DB
SR, how very MSE of you - keeping a tight hold of the purse strings
Nelski, dominoes is really expensive & no longer that special, so haven’t had one in an age. Now If we fancy pizza I either buy a cheap & cheerful one from MrA & add my own extra toppings or I make one myself using remnants of puff pastry. Enjoy your holiday
AoD, :j last day:j You may be lucky & get a couple of weeks of leisure & then you will probably find you are so busy that you start to wonder how you had the time for a job :rotfl: Government depts seem to be getting worse - sounds like the DWP are joining in - I can’t stand inefficiency especially when you have already done the bulk of the work for them
csarina, :T good for you :T what is the point of arranging things online if the company can’t be bothered to read them & then source the materials. I bet their faces were a picture when you said no :rotfl: I imagine you are quite formidable :rotfl: Glad there is finally some resolution re the floor - it has taken long enough
nannywindow, your bedroom sounds like mine :rotfl: DH snores & I am still coughing but not quite so much now
Today is turning out to be a lazy day but have emptied two shelves of my food cupboard & will check to see if I have anything that needs using up. I seem to have overstocked Worcestershire Sauce for some reason  as I have three unopened bottles as well as an open one
I should get on & do something/anything , so I will wish everyone a good day & sign off.

Also Camelot, hope your eye procedure went ok xx
TA- a bucketful of hugs for you and Mr Ta,you are really going through it at the moment xx
Nanny-wishing you all the best for a long & happy retirement, and hope you had a nice last day.
I nipped into town after dropping DGS at nursery school,he rushed in to show his teachers a rock he painted here last night. It's either a car or a dinosaur depending which way you hold itApparently we have to collect some more pebbles at the weekend, sounds like a trip along the river bank is waiting. I bought myself a new pair of (long) shorts so that could spell the end of the good weather :rotfl:
DH popped back at lunchtime to drop off our meat pack from the butcher, lots of nice bbq bits in so will be spoiled for choice tonight. After tea I think we are going to see his Auntie who has gone into a nursing home after being discharged from hospital after breaking her leg.
I think I shall go and sit outside with my book. We've not heard anything over the back gardens yet ...
