Somewhat surprised to receive the following email from Ovo
We're sorry - we noticed that when we supplied your energy, we estimated your usage incorrectly, which resulted in you being overcharged.

When we don't have any meter readings to measure your usage, we have to work out how much energy we think you'll use in a year.

However, we've reviewed our estimates and believe that they were incorrect.

This means you paid too much for your energy, so we're sending you a refund for the amount we owe you. The refund will be made within the next two weeks.

As I always submitted meter readings between the 18th and 23rd of each month to ensure we met their date criteria I don't think we had more than one estimated bill.
We were with them from 2015/16 so not sure this is genuine & I haven't replied. The email doesn't ask for bank details, so don't think it's a phishing scam. Has anyone else received a similar email? No mention of course of how much we are owed.......

I doubt that it is a phishing exercise unless they have requested your Bank details which I doubt is the case. The e-mail may be a result of an internal review as Ovo is currently the subject of an Ofgem investigation:
