District Enforcement _ Beddington Park

Hi there
My son parked his car in a local park at about 9.45pm and unbeknown to us the area he parked it is now deemed not an approved area, the area has been used for many years as a parking area within the park.
As he parked late into the evening he did not see any signs, the signs have white writing on blackboards and the area he parked in was totally unlit. So he had no way of knowing that parking is no longer allowed in the area, there are no other indications.
The ticket was issued the following morning and discovered when he went to collect his car.
From what I have discovered District Enforcement have taken this contract on a zero fee basis across the park for a 6 month trial.
Can you offer your opinions on the likelihood of this claim progressing
Thanks in advance for your help

How to deal with this is detailed in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1. Please have a read of it and follow procedure there.
Far better that your son comes here to deal with this, as Chinese Whispers can be expensive:Send three and four pence, we're going to a dance.
DE can be litigious, so you (he) needs to be aware of this. For sure, if this goes to litigation, you cannot deal with the business end (court appearance) unless you are the vehicle's registered keeper.
Read the sticky (post #1 will do for now), then come back to tell us how you (son) propose to deal with this, and we'll make sure you're on the right track. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
