Boiler service question

Personally I would, it is not just a dust out, but should cover things like a hidden slight leak, pressure test , and my first one uncovered a problem in my gas meter which was news to me
Gas co fixed the meter fault, seems new boilers can put extra demands on something which has been dormant for yearsWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
How often should you get your boiler service done? I have a brand new 12 month old boiler, Worcester 25i combi, hardly used it... do I need to have a service after just one year?
Check your warranty ts and cs if you have one. It is usually a requirement that the boiler is serviced by a GSR’d engineer every year. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hengus is right - I have a new Worcester boiler and it must be serviced every year in order to benefit from a 5 year manufacturer's warranty, whether it's used or not.0

Yes, exactly right. I need the annual service for the five year warranty. But I just thought today, 5 years of servicing =£250 . Probably not needed if I barely use it, just to withhold a warranty. But likelihood most often then not, after the 5 years is probably when something goes wrong. And a new boiler is only £900 . So it might be worth the risk, saving £50 ... then the warranty probably has some silly call out charge . .just weighing up the pros and cons. I can easily afford a new boiler, but I don!!!8217;t want to pay £50 a year, if it only needs serviced every 3 years really...0

With respect, your logic is I believe flawed. ‘Barely using a boiler’ may in fact create more problems than using it on a constant basis. Valves that are not exercised frequently stick etc. At the end of the day, it is your decision. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
