I hate the big branded teas, they!!!8217;re all awful! I!!!8217;d much rather buy a decent loose leaf from a local specialist tea shop (especially independents). Since loose leaf needs less tea & you can re-use it multiple times, it!!!8217;s not actually as expensive as people think.

Can anyone recommend a nice tasting supermarket brand tea that is goid value for everyday use? There was an answer on a thread a while back but i cannot find it..

We usually buy Coop own brand loose tea-I think it's called Red Label. We used to buy Typhoo but our local supermarket stopped stocking the loose tea.

I use the Co-op 99 for this, but I suggest you try them all as it is so subjective. I used to like Sainsbugs red label, but can't seem to find it lately, plus for me the co-op is a more convenient place to shop, there's normally one one some corner or other

I put this mix in my caddy:
250g Co-op 99 (£1.59) +
125g Co-op Indian Prince (£1.69)
Lasts us about a couple of weeks.

I use m&s breakfast tea, or twinings breakfast tea .. but not really had loose leaf tea that wasn't nice - can usually stretch about 3 mugs of tea out of 1 heaped tsp of tea so a box of loose leaf tea lasts longer than teabags.
hate using teabags now, just doesn't taste right .. !!

Blimey, can't see me getting three mugs from that amount, must be weaker than I like.

I'm two mugs from 2 & bit Tsp, and as for reusing them, not for me, too weak again, that one is just too far for my taste. I tip them on the garden

i grabbed a box of coop fair trade 99. It was like dust??? is this right?
Didn't taste to bad though.
I also noticed that i have a whittards near work , so i will pop in there and see what they have.
