At the back of the house there are concrete patio slabs that are laid but are very uneven. For the summer we want to have BBQ and the kids have friends over and we want to have either the existing slabs re-laid or new paving bricks put down
The patio area in total is about 25 square meters. Is £2,000 high which is what is being discussed as a budget but don't want to pay over the odds

Thanks! Anybody know how long it takes to lay a patio? I'm looking online for ideas if anyone has any links or suggestions pleaseThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
From scratch to do it properly and providing the weather doesn't interfere about a weeks work (this has lots of caveats such as distance the materials have to be moved and size & weight of paviours etc.) Go to www.pavingexpert.com if you want decent advice on how to do it properly. Much more info than you'll get in a forum response. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Why not go MSE and tell the kids there's £100 hidden under a slab but to get it they need to raise each one in turn and lay it back level?0

Thank you for the replies. It seems that laying a patio properly is not as cheap as people often think. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

True, but it’s a very achievable DIY job which you could do for £500 by following the advice on pavingexpert and relaying the existing slabs on a good base.
Otherwise 2 grand sounds about right.0
