Case opens then immediately closes by eBay

I had a buyer buy something then about two weeks later decided they didn't like it and want to return it, which is fine. I’ve set up my mail so that everything addressed to my office instantly goes to the delivery office where I collect it from (but eBay don’t know this).


I collected my mail on Friday then on Tuesday night the buyer messaged me asking if I had received the item back however being out I did not receive this then under one hour later they opened a case which was immediately closed by eBay in the buyers favour because they “provided tracking which shows the item was delivered” . Well I checked the tracking and all Royal Mails website says is “deliver conformation is only provided when item is delivered”.


I think eBay should be honest and say we refunded them because they added a number. I’m not bothered about the refund but I’m worried that this will affect my stats in the “cases closed without seller resolution” category.



Should I worry about this or will it be ok?

You collect your mail. So does the tracking show the item held at your local office? Then it is delivered for Ebays pruposes.
If its not a genuine tracking no. then push back to ebay

It does not say it is in the delivery office. All it says is “deliver conformation is only provided when item is delivered” so as far as eBay is concerned it could be in the delivery office, in the postage system or in the buyers house if they have bought a postage label online.
