Old Style Daily Wednesday 6th June 2018

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning and thank you for starting us off btdt.

I've been up and footing about for an hour, after the third loo visit and the second fight with the duvet (who knew how aggressive those duvets can be) I got up.

I'll work at home for most of today, my last outside appointment this afternoon and then just tomorrow unless I end up with a bit of outstanding paperwork. Which I can do at the end of the week.

The birds are surprisingly quiet, they are usually yelling their little heads off by this time.

I have towels in the washing machine, they can go outside later and OH is cooking.

Hooe everyone has a good day.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I heard a bit of rain falling early this morning but it is still too warm for me. I didn't get very much sleep so I will be fuelled by coffee today I think.

Hopefully my lovely cmht lady will be coming to see me today. I don't want to go out but I hope she will have time for a chat with me. I want to thank her for helping me so much with all the various forms and appointments as she has been wonderful.

Lilly has her friend staying at the moment so they are both fast asleep in the living room. I will have to wait a bit longer before I can wake them up so I can watch some tv :D.

I will be cooking a chicken later on so I can strip it and make a curry for dinner. I'm tempted to chuck it on now seeing as I am up anyway but I think I will wait until Steve has left for work.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to and a special hello to all my fellow early birds. Take care xx

Good morning, and thanks for starting off, beenthere_donethat.
It's a quiet grey morning here, no birds singing here either AOD, strange.

I've just put a towel wash on, and there's a small load of whites waiting, so I hope I'll get them outside. It was nice and blowy yesterday.

We were away at the weekend at a wedding "night" do, which was very nice, got home at lunchtime on Monday. We'll be off again on Sunday up to Scotland for a few days, so I'm hoping you Scottish posters on the west coast will organise a bit of decent weather.

Meeting a friend this morning for coffee, there's a bit of ironing to do, and I'll tidy the freezer. That's about it.

Hope everyone has a good day today.
    Take care folks.

    Morning everyone

beenthere_donethat - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Cloudy, dull, dreich and dreary again this morning, but forecast says we will get sun later, yesterday morning started the same and then the sun shone and it was lovely, although the air was cool, hoping for the same today. I will peg out washing before I go to work.

DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, he will catch a lift with me as he wants to go to the gym.

Dinner last night was chicken wrapped in bacon, mash, veg and gravy. I remembered to get the sausages out to defrost so tonight we'll have full english.

Yesterday work was horrific in the afternoon, all those who didn't visit Monday did so yesterday - but it made the afternoon pass quickly. I'm doing the other job today so will see how that goes but the telephone calls have been stacked every day this week, so probably another busy one. I have to go in tomorrow for a training session on my day off, and am then also working Saturday - so not much of a break this week, so tomorrow and Friday the minimum will get done at home.

Don't know whether the sun is having an effect but we've had 2 overturned vehicles in 2 days on local roads - not sure what's going on!
    Both occasions have caused chaos.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone

I really like these light mornings, but I think that I am waking up a bit earlier because of them unfortunately, but they are worth it.

Today I am going to meet a friend for coffee and a bit of people watching. She wants to do some shopping and has suggested that I go with her as she will be driving and it will give me the opportunity to stock up on heavy or bulky items, so that is useful. That will save me having to do an online shop.

I tried to paint over a few scuff marks on the entrance hall walls where I had scuffed it with my shopping bags when coming in but it is really obvious so it looks like I will have to do at least one of the walls again. It isn’t long since I did the hallway.

The only housework that needs doing today is a quick vacuum through which won’t take long. Dinner will be a salad, so that is nice and easy.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

    Morning All

2 loads of washing on the line, had to fight off the midges while I was out there. The sun is due out again later, yesterday turned out to be lovely, warm and sunny with a little breeze.

Had a haircut after work yesterday, a lot shorter than I've had but I think I like it, will have to see what it's like after a shower this morning!

My new strimmer line arrived so played with that for a while then cut the grass, it was 8.30 by the time I had finished so a quick shower and bed. Going to Ikea after work to pick something up for DD, hope the traffic isn't too bad.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Silver-Oldie, hope you had a great day.
    Have a good holiday Speky!
Your tennant is something else HH!

Morning folks. A dull start here but hopefully it will be like yesterday, when the sun emerged late morning and we spent the afternoon sitting in the garden. S*d the jobs you have to enjoy the sunshine while you can.

Today will be the same old, same old. Won't bore you. I have the excitement of a much needed hair appointment this morning and this afternoon the British Gas service engineer is booked to give the boiler it's annual service.

    Take care all xx

    Morning all,

Beautiful day already. Hounds have been out and I'm planning my day. No doubt I'll see Prodigal today. He came yesterday but I wasn't in. He's got to stop running to me when he's got himself in a mess. He doesn't listen anyway.

Youngest has been yelled at for thundering round the house at 6am. Have some consideration Son!

The Blonde One has asked me to have the kids overnight on Saturday. After the last sleepover when Diva kept us all awake...I don't think so.

Oh and I've decided, despite being slimmer than I've been for years, I'm still a mess. I can't make my hair grow any faster but I need to sort out the rest.

    Onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

    Morning Everyone,

Lovely sunshine here. Nothing much planned today apart from work. Must pop to the shops after work.
Tea will be chicken with vegetables and a sauce mix done in the SC.

Have a good day all x
