odd one,
They haven't been chasing me up so I don't have freepost envolope... really weird they haven't been chasing me as my note expires today, are they normally this lax?
Secondly, I don't fancy buying a load of envelopes when i just need one, can i send them my fit note in say, an EDF envelope using a bit of paper to get the right freepost address in the window of the envelope? and taping it up with black tape? even if it says edf logo on the envelope and has the posted by royal mail thing?

Are you normally this lax?
So long as it's addressed with the correct free post address it will get there0 -

As for buying the envelopes, you'll need them for future fit notes anyway. I don't ever remember receiving the free envelopes when i was sending fit notes to them.
Either that or you can take your fit note to your local Job centre and they may send it across for you. You may need an appointment for this, it totally depends on the JC.0 -
my last one ran out on the 3rd, I got the first app I could at my doctors when I realised it ran out
lol the cheek of those responses0 -

Your first post showed an attitude, not the responses. It is indeed the claimants responsibility to make sure their fit notes are sent on time.0 -
Just take it into a job centre and tell them to send it to ESA for you. Not really a big issue for them. I would prefer to do this than sending it via 2nd class mail. That way you know they will have it.0

I'd recommend sending it first class, and ringing the DWP to let them know it's on the way.
(Or take it to your JC and ask them to fax it over, as several helpful posters have suggested)
It would be a pity if your ESA stopped because your fit note was late.
Don't give the DWP another opportunity to end your ESA payments - put the date in your diary ready for next time.
As stated above it is the claimants responsibility to make sure their fit notes are sent on time.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
when my first ran out they were sending me letters with envelopes.
I think im just !!!!ed off i spent hours trying to send it on their website that doesnt work that the JC told me was the best way to send it.0 -

It is your responsibility to ensure that fit notes are sent. It is not a requirement of DWP that they send you reminders, although they often do. Previous responses have been attempting to help you, and all you can do is be abusive to them.0

The DWP have kept very quiet about the introduction of that useful service0
