Have proof of PPI but no statements. Advice please

I have a letter with my credit card account number and confirmation of PPI, The bank has the letter but says it has no records of transactions - it is more than 6 years old. I don’t have statements, which the bank are requesting.
Is this a dead end, or can I still claim, and if so, how?
Thanks.

If you didnt borrow on the card then you would not pay PPI. So, the bank needs to know if you actually paid PPI or not. You could have it on the aco!!!! but never have paid a penny.
So, they look to the statements to address this.
If the bank does not have statements, then they can use any copy statements you have. If none exist between you then its effectively over.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
