    You don't have it so you either sold a car you didn't own or had an accident and it was written off and you kept the payout which should have gone to the log book loan company.

    The loan was secured on the car, they effectively owned it. You've disposed of someone elses property. Whilst your short term loan might have solved the immediate problem it may not fix the issue and at some point you might be forced to explain where the car is.
