Hope this is in the right place.
Basically my partners ex after 7 years is still using her (now ours) address.
A letter arriveda and accidentally opened by the baby. It was from a !!!!!! brokers that he used in January this year obviously using our address.
Is there anything i can do legally to warn him off as surely this can affect credit rating on the house as he can be doing it for other things.

What you can do also do with any post the "baby" opens if there is a telephone number, telephone the company up and give them the correct address details of the ex. After all you don't want the ex's post to go astray. And having done this to other people they soon get the message not to use my address if they want to run from their bills.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
why have you let the ex use your address for this many years?
Have you spoken to ex about doing this?
Have you ever returned or forwarded post before?
Either way if you think debts are being registered at house start returning mail NOW.
I bought a house with loads of debts registered against previous tenants and I still get letters nearly 4 years on!0 -
I moved into a house where I had trouble with mail coming through for the old owners. I think from the nature of some of it they had financial problems, though I returned it to sender unopened.
I wrote to all three main credit reference agencies and informed them that we were the only people living there and took the protection of our address very seriously. Of course they sent back letters trying to flog us all kinds of reports, but the fact is all three were informed and I had letters responding to me that proved that.
They also advised me to check and ensure that the previous occupants had been removed from the electoral register and ours were on the register. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
