Night ruined by trouser malfunctiom

Hi,

So last Friday I bought a new pair of trousers from a well known High Street retailer, along with a belt and shirt, for a big night out with my wife.

Halfway through the night the seams on the trouser legs, both sides, came apart. I looked like the Hulk!

That pretty much ended the night early. It wasn't cheap, and was the first date night we had since getting married 18 months ago, so pretty special.

So my query is, am I entitled to any compensation for my ruined night by this?

Also, can I claim a refund on the belt? There's nothing wrong with it but I only bought it to go with those trousers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can get a refund for the trousers that's about it.

Out of interest - How much in the way of compensation were you looking for ?
  • Thanks for the rude reply! I've got nothing to get over, it was simply a question.
  • I hadn't really considered a sum, I was just trying to understand what my rights were and if this was a possibility, due to the circumstance. A token gesture would be fine, not looking to sue the pants off of anyone :)

In your situation, suing the pants off someone would probably help you more than money.

It was a simple question, and you received a simple answer. Whether the answer was to your liking or not is neither here nor there. You can get replacement trousers but after that it's down to luck, or how much you can wear the shop assistant down, though with the attitude you have shown here you should have no problem.

Another of those threads where the content doesn't match the expectations raised by the title :rotfl::rotfl:

Back in the day, getting home with destroyed clothing was usually the hallmark of a very good night indeed ..!
