Solicitors writing letters instead of emailing, WHY??

    There is, and it operates in some form in just about every country in the world besides England and Wales.

    I'd not thought of this before but perhaps the email question is something to ask a solicitor up front as part of choosing which one to use :)

    One we used a new years ago had an online reporting system that clients could log into to see progress but they weren't that great at putting updates in so by the time they did most likely we'd already heard the news by phone.

    The last solicitor we used did most things by email which worked well. I think there were only a few of the longer documents by post and we would drop any paperwork from us back to them by hand to save posting time.

    At the start of each transaction, the solicitors discretely agree between themselves which of them will use the post, and which email. They alternate between clients.
    I do hope no one felt I was being disrespectful with my post above.....
