Baffled by 0%cards

I'm looking to get a credit building credit card and have used the tool this site provides to find a couple that seem like they fit the bill.

I'm just confused as to the way the 0% for 3 months works (as offered on two of the cards). The cards both say that this offer is for 3 months from the point the card is received and will be kept as long as the minimum payments are made.

So does this only take into account my first months spending cycle or is it everything within those 3 months? Also does this mean that it would be 3 months from day one and then the 21 day grace period? I feel like the wording is made to be as vague as possible because I can't decipher it no matter how much I read.

A final parting question, is there a certain amount of time I should wait before paying off a balance? For example is it possible to come home the day after a purchase and pay it off, or is it better to wait until the last few days of the grace period to pay it?

Thank you for any help in advance

Most cards now tend to have the spending period the same as the promo period. But you need to check on the specific card.

However, if you're looking to build credit history, don't go for a 0% offer, Three months is nothing and you need to get into the habit of paying it off.

Just spend and clear in full each month, once you have received the statement.

Set up a full pay DD so you don;t forget.

Yes pay your CC off in full each month and your "score" could go down the same as mine. :)

But nobody here cares about the "score"

Everytime my "score" dropped my CC provider increased my credit limit, see how useless the "score" is?

Wait until the last minute.. NO.. if anything happens then you risk a late payment or worse.
I set my pay date at least 10 days before, longer around Bank Holidays and when the payment dates is a weekend.

Then 7 days before i check to make sure its all clear which still gives me times to sort any issues without fear of missing payments.

A 3 month purchases offer is not worth bothering with.
Forget about the idea of paying off each purchase immediately that you get home.
Set up a full balance direct debit and allow the direct debit to repay the card in full each month.
