Welcome back to S&I

Well, I just managed to get back on the site for the first time in a few days, so I thought I'd welcome everyone else back to this area. I have to say, I felt like I was missing out on my daily fix (and it meant I actually had to WORK during the day!).

I'm glad that the site seems to be able to fight back against this cowardly attack, and I hope that Martin and all the others involved with the site managed to beat this problem and continue to provide an excellent service to a significant fraction of this country's citizens.

So, what did everyone get up to in real life while they should have been posting? ;)

Well, I did some cleaning, but I don't have any holidays coming up.

I also did a job interview by phone yesterday, so my fingers are crossed for that one!

    Hi Guys,
Yup - daily fix is about right, though I've had my own techy problems with my graphics card going loopy so I'm having to use a cruddy little lappy until I get it sorted.
Hope Martin and his web gnomes have seen off the @rseholes attacking the site and we can back to learning something new every day.

I wonder how Dunstonh & EdInvestor spent their time.........
It proved what I always suspected - these boards are addictive - definite withdrawal symptoms.

  • It was half term so I never even knew the S&I forum had vanished until I got back to work;) .

But so glad it is, I need my daily fix like all you other saver junkies :j .

I can't believe how much I've learned from MSE in the past year, my finances are almost unrecognisable.
Big thanks to Martin and everyone on the MSE S&I forum :T . Don't let the hackers hack you off.

Yay welcome back. Seems to have come back online just after I last checked around 5pm or so...

Read an article by Martin today bashing premium bonds in Moneywise magazine, obviously NS&I hired the botnet mafia... :(

Decorating house  Not one of the best ways of saving money methinks... bedroom now looks like a giant jigsaw puzzle after my efforts at wallpapering!

I've been helping a friend put a property up for sale. I'm generally quite an optimistic person, and it it's not at all a bad flat, but must admit that I was quite surprised when she got an offer at the asking price on the first day. :T This after a raft of agents all spouting doom and gloom, high interest rates, Northern Rock, sub prime, blah blah blah..... Who said the property market was dead? :D
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
