Nest - can it learn in summer?

I’ll be getting a nest thermostat fitted soon.
I was looking at some info today & it said the first week you keep adjusting it manually & it learns what you like.
There is nothing to teach it till sometime in September!
It’s a combi boiler, so water is only heated as required.
How will it work?
