Wireless card problems- F5D7000UK

I've just installed a wireless network card (Belkin F5D7000UK) into a neighbours PC and managed to get it to connect ok, but the signal strength goes up and down like a yo-yo, cutting the signal all the time. The PC is close to the router (in the next bedroom), so I don't think that's the problem. Are there any known issues with the Belkin Card?
