Morning all, lovely here but it may cloud over later. No DGC today tho' DS has taken DGD to a session of girls football she fancied. They nearly drove me mad yesterday squabbling over the least thing.I was quite glad when DS took them out, then sorry to find they'd gone home when we got back after nipping out
Perhaps I'm just tired,I've had them a fair bit because of the school hols.
We have had a letter from the council regarding the situation with our back gardens. Our next door neighbour has had an ongoing feud with his neighbour over the placing of a shed he put up in 2006 :undecided - he doesnt like looking at it !Because the 'back street' was never formally closed, the council are saying because of his complaint,we now have 3 options,-take all the fences down and restore the back street, formally close it,or have a footpath running along the back. and if the 6 cottages cant agree it will have to go to court. All the options will cost us. The council were quite happy to let things lie with the gardens but now have no option. Just as we get sorted with the tree woman across the back and planted the banking up & got it looking lovely  .We have been feeling quite down about it,we got the letter last Saturday having had a lovely day with DS and DGC.Rant over, sorry to bore you all
Speky glad your stepdad is ok
Enjoy your day Holly, our park is having a running event today so it was already busy when we took Ly1adog out.
I've got bbq bits out for tea.

Morning all
Not much to say about yesterday, even less to say about today except that the Facebook police have banned me from posting for 24 hours.
I couldn't care less really.

Morning, just, ((((((((((hugs if you need one))))))))))
I joined the ranks of the sleepless last night, it was 3am before I dropped off....so only about 4 hours sleep, hope I sleep better tonight.
Usual Sunday lie in with brekkie, DB managed to get strawberry jam on the duvet cover, hey ho, its coming off in the morning to be washed.
Once up he went round to do an hour putting preservative on the back of the fence we had put up. I set to and did another hours weeding, gosh it was warm, and my back and legs complained, two days running, its not on!! So packed in. Only have a small piece left to do, so maybe tomorrow. I discovered a bite on my ankle, so anti histamine tablets and some Avon so soft rubbed into my legs. I react very badly to bites and stings.
We went out for afternoon tea yesterday, up to the hospice for a cream tea, it was yummy. I managed to get out of the shop without buying anything.....major miracle that! Mind you I did not go upstairs to the charity shop, if I had things might have been different.
Prepped veg etc for supper, roast chicken, stuffing and veg. I might pull some rhubarb for a crumble. There were two strawberries ripe yesterday so we had one each, yummy.0 -
Morning -just!
I've done a load of washing which is now hung out, it's muggy here and no breeze so I doubt it'll dry. The sun is trying to burn off the low white cloud, that would help.
Whilst I was out I did some weed pulling and weed spraying too. A little wander around the back garden was enjoyable, the virginia creeper is taking off this year - for two years it's been a bit limp and slow to grow. Mind you, last year we didn't have a summer.
My breakfast was 'using up' two bakewell tart sconesthey were 'taunting' me sitting on the worktop. Now they have been disposed off.
I've set up my classroom table and chair so that I can do my marking without getting a pain in my back. The only motivation I have is that my students tomorrow morning are expecting their work back and it's the final day for them with me.
There's some lovely soup for later and some filled pasta to use up too.
Happy Sunday to everyone.0 -
SNOOZER I agree eshoes is an amazing shop and worth a browse, both upstairs and downstairs, even if you don't plan on buying anything! Some of the shoes don't even look comfortable and for up to £150 I'd want a pair to feel like comfy old slippers! I don't do heels either (except maybe for a wedding!) and my sandals are flat, black, strappy ones. Probably the most boring pair in the shop so no wonder they were in the sale!
Oh dear ROSYRED that's a big problem you are facing and I hope it doesn't end up costing you a vast amount of money to sort it to everyone's satisfaction.
Well the sun didn't last and it's now cloudy but no rain is forecast so I might get the bedding plants in after lunch as planned.
Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Thanks for advice on strawberries yesterday....I didn't even realise the flowers turned into strawberries!
Been to my mam and dad's this morning so mam could go to church, then for my Sunday Times. I have a chicken in the slow cooker for tea ( and then tea all week! ) and just need to prepare some veg to roast. Will do enough veg for tomorrow too. Just plan on having a nice lazy afternoon. It has been raining but has stopped now, though it's still cloudy so I don't think I'll get a sit outside today.
Hope everyone has a nice day0 -

Hopeyou have a lovely lunch with DB & family:)
Sorry about the whinge yesterday :embarasse :embarasse
DSis is a lot happier today - she finally managed to find her shampoo & conditioner - so has washed her hair in the kitchen sink:rotfl: Surprising how much better clean hair makes you feel
By the time we all finished faffing about yesterday we missed the Farmers Marketmaybe next time :rotfl:
DSis is watching a film, DH is washing his motorbike & her car& in between sunning myself & drinking tea I am sorting out the kitchen cabinets
Thought I had been fairly brutal last time but now it is time to let go of some of the ‘aspirational’ stuff. The cs should do quite well
plus there is a bag of toys etc from Germany - compliments of my DB & his family :rotfl:
Have also done two loads in the wm, one load dried & the other out drying
Lainey, there is something to be saying d for a cba day:rotfl: sunshine will revive you as little no as it is not toooo hot :rotfl:
TA, I loathe shopping in all its formsbut I can do the pub meal with a couple of drinks :rotfl: Hope MrTA did eat his meals & that he is feeling a bit better in himself
Hester, hope you enjoyed the omelette & that it was only a six egg omelette :rotfl: I would have laughed too :rotfl:
RR hope the garden situation gets sorted without too much pain  on your behalf - whatever happened to cooperation

My Monday marking is done! :j
Only one student has flown her way through all the learning outcomes without any need to do more. I'm not sure who will be the more delighted, her or me. She's Polish which means she's doing all this work in a foreign language. Pity that the 'native' students aren't so diligent and now have more work to do. Tomorrow is the final deadline so the rest will be working hard to pass.
The sun did manage to burn through and dry my washing. :j Now I'm going to settle down to watch BGT final, I haven't watched much of the series as I really can't face it, the final should be good. I hope!
So, it's a glass of wine, feet up and a quiet evening for me.0
