Old Style Daily Sunday 3rd June 2018

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone :hello:
We had a lovely sunny afternoon yesterday after a dull overcast start to the day. I went to the park for a wander around the festival that is on and had an enjoyable couple of hours there, then sat in the park for a while before going for a walk. It is already sunny here this morning, hopefully it will last and be a nice warm day.
Half of the bathroom got cleaned yesterday evening. I got all of the tiles cleaned and shined up. The bathroom is fully tiled and quite big so it always seems like a mountain of a job. I’m always pleased when it is done though.
My brother and sister in law are coming over this morning. They need to do some shopping in town, so will park here. My brother has booked a table for lunch for us all at a local restaurant so no need to worry about food today.
I hope that your dad is ok newroadahead.
TA I hope that you managed to get to Skipton, and enjoyed your day.
Have a good Sunday everyone whatever you are doing.0 -
Morning! Ten past 6 and tge sun is shining, I've got washing ready to go out.
No special plans today so I'll just wish everyone a good day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start Holly, hope you enjoy the day with your family.
It’s very misty here again this morning, one of these days we will wake up to bright sunshine! Have been out with small dog and she is now in her basket drying off after getting wet with dew, the bird feeders are all filled up and I am enjoying the first cuppa of the day.
We have no plans for today, the cba attitude lasted all day yesterday, so much so that we ended up with a takeaway for tea, oh well doesn’t hurt now and again. I did take a couple of rtc Charlie Bingham steak pies out of the freezer so will have those today with new pots and veg.
Nothing else of interest to report, have a good day folks x0 -
Morning folks and thanks HOLLY. The sun has got his hat on and there is a gentle breeze blowing - a perfect day for planting the bedding plants I got t'other day. They have been on the "potting" table at the back since I got them on Wednesday! (The potting table is an old garden table that has seen better days so not as posh as it sounds!!)
The planned afternoon in Skipton with DD and DGDs happened and, despite, an afternoon of showers being forecast we didn't see a drop! But what hard work shopping with DD who has to go in almost every shop! We went in Eshoes, just for a look (!!) and what an eyeopener. Who wears most of their shoes - I can't begin to describe the Cinderella ones!! And the prices!! I, of course, never got beyond the sale rack and got a lovely pair of Blowfish sandals reduced to £20. I didn't need them but couldn't resist!
We collapsed mid afternoon in a bar on Belmont Wharf watching all the barges come and go and rounded off the day with a lovely meal in the Red Lion before heading home. I had forgotten what hard work it is shopping with DD and children!
Mr TA had coped without me and had managed to eat most of what I left him (unless he had put it in the bin to avoid me being cross with him!!)
I shall have a freezer rummage shortly before deciding on today's nutritional menu for him. I of course will be having something different as usual. I seem to be in and out of the kitchen all day making this and that!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all who need/want them. I hope Mr Fixit feels a bit better today NAN. NRA nice to see you posting again and I hope your Dad is ok. Mrs SD you will need the patience of a saint until your Sis is sorted. I remember what it was like when DS split from the psycho and we were living surrounded by all his mountains of boxes/stuff etc for weeks! Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone
hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Misty start here, but still quite warm, didn't really clear the cloud yesterday until the afternoon, then sun came out briefly then it went dark and started to rain. So we'll see what we get today,
DH and myself both enjoying first cuppas of the day, I'll be going for a shower in a mo. Both boys still in their pits.
Dinner last night was southern fried chicken portions, pizza, salad, hot new potatoes, ice cream for dessert. Today we have plans to go out for most of the day, so not sure what food will be, other than there's a couple of ready made lasagnes in the fridge for the boys if they want them.
Yesterday I got to town and visited the building society, so that I don't have to go in my lunch break on Monday, there's not really enough time, so always like to get it done on a Saturday if I'm not working. We were lazy yesterday afternoon, but we'll be going to visit the parents this morning as long as DH doesn't change his mind about what he wants to do again. Then head out for the day.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off Holly
Sunny again here. Not sure what we are doing today, probably not much, too hot.
Think we shall visit mother this morning. Lunch will be salad.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Morning All
Well, it's raining. It started about 5pm and seems to have rained most of the night, just showery now. At least I wont have to water the garden and the allotment will be ok - everything is coming along nicely there, did a bit of weeding yesterday so all looks good.
I've cleaned the fridge and the kitchen floor this morning, nothing else planned so will see what the day brings.
Hope everyone's well, take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to all those in need.
CHS does NOT have a hangover, that's his story and he's sticking to it!
He went out with his friend yesterday and came home bladdered!
Or to be more precise he phoned for me to pick him up once he got half way home. The bus journey gets very circuitous once the bus gets past the big supermarket.
My beloved managed to tread in every wet cow pat between the car and the gate, he'd insisted on carrying the shopping left in the car from this morning, he fell over when trying to get on to the gangplank as he'd worn his best shoes, the ones with smooth soles and no grip! I was no help as all I could do was laugh. Oh and the shopping? A dozen eggs, omelette anyone?
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
TA, I've been in that shoe shop - it's amazing. Sadly, even if I wanted to I can no longer wear heels so it would have been no good for me.
Hester, once my dad fell in a full bath of water when he came in drunk.
I'm just about to go and give myself a mini-pamper - face mask and have a go at finger and toe-nails. I need to make myself a bit more presentable for the week ahead.0 -
TA could you batch cook some things into portions for you, so you can spend a bit less time slaving in the catering department?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
