Disconecting a Renault Megane window

Quick question if one of my convertibles rear quarterlight windows was fixed in up position permanently would the retracting sunroof go up or down, or do all the windows need to be in the down position for the roof to open.

I am asking as I am on my second window regulator R/N/S which has stopped halfway and as I only have my window down during the opening/closing process was looking at asking my garage to get it back to fully closed and then disconnecting the motor. Unless some sort of sensor telling the roof all windows down/up can't see why not.

Any one know ??

When I had a Megane CC, one of the rear quarter lights also failed, however it did not affect the roof process.

Were the quarterlights permanently up , so far the mechanics at my garage (the chap who replaced the last regulator away) think the roof will only go down if all windows in down position.

At the moment the gaps btwn window and door being plugged with adhesive neoprene strips

I suppose only one way to find out

    Cheers
Spoke to my chap this morning , he is having it in on Thursday and before then is going to speak to dealership technical and order a new regulator , I have suggested if this does not sort the problem to see if roof will operate with the quarterlight fixed up by either disconnecting the window motor or taking out the fuse if individually fused.

I can't remember when the window fully packed up the first time if the window didn't go down at all when roof opened.
I don't need the quarterlights to go down as I don't carry back seat passengers and even when roof down always have windows up

Just got car back the mechanic believes there is a module in the roof that keeps tripping the easy way to reset is to remove the fuse which resets the module and lets window go fully up , hopefully that will mean able to quickly fix problem ( fusebox easy to access in glove box)

And finally the roof will still operate when the rear quarterlights are both up so if keeps doing it will leave up and remove fuse during summer
