Avoid Worcester-Bosh services!!

HI,
I would like to share poor experience when dealing with Worcester-Bosch, though not sure if it can be avoided if you have your boiler still under warranty.
Our boiler broke during the torrential rain last weekend, so we managed to log a call (through agency managing flat) only on Thursday, after Bank Holiday. We obtained Job Reference and engineer was booked for Friday (1st June). For the picture to be clearer, we are family with 8y old child, and although weather was good last week bathing with the help of water warmed in the kettle is not fun.
On Friday I got missed call from Worcester-Bosh office, and after I called they told me that all is OK, that they don't know who called and why, and that engineer will call 30 min prior to arrival. Around 2:00 pm I decided to call once more (something was telling me that there must be a reason why they tried to contact me in the morning), and another Customer Services representative told me that all perfectly well and that he can see on the system that we are next on engineer's list. At 5:00 pm, as engineer didn't call up until then, I contacted Customer Services again only to be told that there was a problem with work order list (that none saw in the morning, and at 2!) and that engineer didn't even know he has to visit us. There was nothing we could do at that point, so Customer Services lady told us that she will book next available engineer.
As it stands the next available slot is NEXT Friday (8th June), as it seems that company boasting of big maintenance network cannot find someone on short notice, even in the case when missed appointment was clearly their fault (not to mention lying/being incompetent about situation on several occasions).
Bottom line, stay clear of them if you can as "5 years" warranty only means you will have to wait weeks before your device is repaired, instead fixing it next day by using local "yellow page" engineer.
Regards,

One bad customer service experience with the company producing some of the most reliable boilers available does not a bad company make.
We've installed countless Worcester-Bosch boilers, know many of our clients as friends now and, touch wood, they provide very few problems.
On the one occassion I know one to have had an issue, WB managed to get someone to my friend on the same day during the Beast from the East.
Our own boiler hasn't faltered in seven years. I wouldn't buy anything else.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Have you got an immersion heater? If you have a hot water cylinder it's a good idea to have an immersion so that in cases like this, you still have hot water.0

I have no experience with Worcester-Bosch customer service but I would prefer to have a reliable boiler such as Worcester-Bosch that rarely breaks down than a less reliable boiler boiler from a company no matter how good their customer service might be.
Worcester-Bosch have an excellent reputation for reliability.
Your one bad experience doesn't negate that.
Perhaps if you had been more insistent you could have negotiated an earlier engineer's visit.0 -
