green screen photography software

hiya all,

looking for recommendations for free/cheap green screen photography software, preferably an all in one programme that I can add my own backgrounds to.

    Any package editing software that works with layers can do this, it doesn't even have to be a green screen effect either.

    In paint.net you have the background which can be whatever you like and then the image you want to give a background to as a layer on top. Then all you do is change the background which doesn't affect the main image.

    There are some excellent free products in this area:-

    Paint.net is very straightforward to use for this type of thing when dealing with individual images.

    Davinci Resolve is an incredibly deep/rich product which can apply green screen effects to stills, multiple images and video.

    I've used both products extensively and would recommend either. Of the two, Davinci Resolve has more of a learning curve, by virtue of the sheer complexity of the product. A recent release to v15 Beta has seen a flurry of good tutorials (on Youtube), though.
