Ending listing early to sell 1 item in bundle?

Hi, I would be grateful for some advice. I am selling a bundle of 4 things as part of a set. I have had someone ask me if they could buy 1 of the set as they have the others. I am happy to do this but am unsure of the best way forward. The listing is currently live and I don't want to be penalised for listing it early as I assume finishing it early will be held against me? My current thinking is to say sorry cannot do anything until the listing ends and if it doesn't sell to list the single item as a buy it now and get her to bid? Am I right? Any other thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

So long as you have no bids you can close early without penalty.

No No No, not anymore, ebay have draconian rules about what they consider is an off ebay sale. As soon as you have a question on an item you need to tread very carefully , ending the listing will be flagged by a bot as selling off ebay to circumvent fees which can result in a warning, restriction and even on a second warning- a suspension, mummysaver is right to be cautious .

Personally I wouldn't risk my account, OP, I would do as you have suggested, respond and say that you cannot end this listing early now but assuming the bundle doesn't sell you are happy to then relist as a BIN.

Thanks, I have sent my potential bidder a message stating my original plan and explaining why so hopefully they will understand and not hold it against me. Honestly, ebay can be hard work sometimes!

Thanks Soolin for clarifying, good old eBay, never knowingly helpful to buyers or sellers.
