Slugs getting under my door!!

Help! I found a slug in the middle of my living room at 4 in the morning. Disgusting, nearly stepped on it. Using a bright torch, I followed the slick back to my front door. Looks like they're getting in from under there. It's already a tight fit and between the bottom of the floor and the carpet below.

I'm thinking a draft excluder would do the job? Or would it. They seem extremely determined.

Perhaps try putting a line of cheapie salt on the ground immediately outside the back door?

I know from experience that when salt touches a slug it immediately implodes (ie yucky - but at least it's dead).

Put salt on the path outside of your doorway.

agree with the salt but would also get some sticky back copper strip from a garden centre and stick that to your door frame.

Clean up any dust either side of the door. I use a soluble slug killer liquid in a watering can and give the out side of the door a wetting. Look for cracks in paving stones and around grids and give that a wetting too. Part of the problem is the frequency slugs reproduce so you have to keep up the war.

I'd focus on improving the seal around the door, it shouldn't have slug sized gaps letting then in in the first place.

Find the gaps and plug then - the foam rubber draught excluder p strip can be easily stuck around the frame to fill gaps, and brush strips to block bigger gaps.
