BEWARE!!
I was persuaded to not take 450 Euros cash on holiday but to deposit it in Sainsburys Cash Card.
I have used it twice in ATMs in Madeira withdrawing 400 Euros
I have 18 Euros left in my account
I have been charged 32 Euros in commissions. I should have been able to access my cash easily with no commissions.
Insane and I wish I had never heard of this card.
I had to take cash on my debit card which will also charge commission...a nightmare.

Who persuaded you to do that ?
Research reasearch and research, many alternatives available like Starling account, Halifax clarity card is another if you can get 1.0 -
.... But it will cost you less than using the Sainsbury card - or for that matter any supermarket, travel agent or Post Office 'travel' card, avoid them all..! Your story is a good warning.barneylodge wrote: »I had to take cash on my debit card which will also charge commission...
But we still see people queuing up to exchange their cash and buy these cards, instead of using one of the 'travel' credit cards or the other modern solutions for fee-free overseas use:
