Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Well the thunder storm predicted for last night did not happen. Its a grey morning, but I have done an hour in the garden before my back told me to give up or I would not be able to straighten up. I have cut the rosemary right down, taken a few cuttings will see if I can get them to root.
Easy supper tonight, all day breakfast......bacon egg tomato and fried bread.
We had strawberries two meals running yesterday, my friend had some with cream at lunchtime and I had done some to have with ice cream after supper last night. The ones in the garden have been covered with net, they are starting to ripen, so I will have to keep my eye on them.
No idea what we are going to do this afternoon, maybe just read, its a bit murky again. I might get the border finished tomorrow.0 -
Afternoon all
Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to all those in need.
Sunny here and warm, we may have rain later, CHS is going out later, I shall do some food shopping.
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone,
Thought I would poke my head in:D Thanks for starting us off Holly
It is cold & overcast hereThe cough is getting better - I managed 5.5 hours sleep but woke up feeling grotty
Go figure :rotfl: So a long soak is on the cards & then hopefully a visit to the farmers market in the local park.
We have been back from France for just over a week. I almost cried at the state of my home when we walked in - there was so much stuff. We have an open plan living & dining area & the dining area had been completely cleared:T to accommodate my DSis’s furniture, crates & boxes - I had even donated my table & chairs to the cs. Unfortunately the clutter had spilled over into the lounge:mad: after working so hard to make it a haven:(. Then discovered that there was more in the garage so DH cannot put his bike away
& my pristine kitchen also had stuff in it
DSis liked how we decorated her room (but it is a third of the size she is used to) & her own bed had already been set up by DH & our DB.
Life is settling down now & if I get ratty at my DSis my wonderful DH is the peacemaker
My kitchen & lounge are now restored to their former states - the former clean & tidy, the latter tidy (needs decorating) The dining room has everything stacked fairly neatly & some crates/boxes/bags have been emptied - but DSis needs shelving for her room before the rest of it can be sorted
Have been boring you all to tears for so long that the sun has come out & the sky has cleared:j
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend & hugs to those who are struggling at the moment.
:T Also big thanks for your posts which have kept me sane :T & reminded me that I am fortunate that DH & I are in a position to take in my DSis while she decides what she wants to do in the future:T
Thanks for listening:o

Hello all
We have blue skies and a gentle breeze :j.
We had a lovely time at afternoon tea, but we were the only ones there, such a shame because the patisserie was fabulous.
Mr Fix It had a really bad night so he's chilling on the recliner chair. I shall be happier when he gets his new injection on Wednesday, although it usually takes a few days after that to kick in.
I on the other hand, am working my fingers to the bone :rotfl:.
This morning I have done 3 loads of washing and hung them on the whirly, stripped the bed and the bedding is now in the WM. I shall have to put up my emergency line across the patio to accommodate that though. The DW has been emptied and refilled and Dad's rhubarb crumbles have just come out of the oven, I made 4 individual ones so he can freeze them.
After lunch I want to get out into the garden as the front hedge needs a short back and sides haircut . I am hopping that Mr Fix It will feel up to wielding the hedge trimmers as the new ones we bought have a longer reach and I find them top heavy. I as always will be on the cleaning up end :rotfl:.
I also need to cut the back lawn, it's very pretty at the moment because it's full of Daisies. We have had a lot of birds in the garden this morning, a family of sparrows, some blue and great t i t s, Mr and Mrs blackbird, oh and I mustn't forget the bushy tailed squirrel.
Later I shall remake the bed, but I am going to change the flannelette sheet for a cotton one, as the last few nights have been really hot and sticky.
Tea tonight may have to be a salad for me, ( after yesterday's cake fest) but I don't know what Mr Fix It will feel like eating. We shall see, but there's plenty in the freezer to choose from.
Ok the bedding has finished so I must go and hang it out.
Take care all. Hugs at the ready if you need or want one.
nan xx
PS MrsSD I am sending you some healing vibes for your cough.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
There have been several posts about growing strawberries. I have 6 strawberry plants in a bed at the bottom of my garden. They have flowers on them....but I have no idea what I'm meant to do with them!
Any advice please?0 -

Prep for tonight's meal is under way; I've cooked a couple of Qu0rn sausages, and put them to cool; and Mr LW is cutting potatoes into chunks to cook and cool to make potato salad.
Honey is here; she's brought a selection of foods with her which I must cook each day - rice and veggies - which she has mixed with chicken (thankfully already cooked and cut into pieces and in the freezer) and a little kibble for some crunch. She certainly eats well!
It's amazing the variation we see in what the dogs are fed; and of course as carers, we have to abide by what the owners want - the whole idea is to mimic what the dog is used to as far as possible.
Anyways, Honey seems settled - she's been for a walk, had a tiny corner of Mr LW's lunchtime toast (we were told this is usual for her and fine for us to do if we choose), and brought one of her toys to me for a game.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all
All jobs accomplished, well after a fashion :rotfl:.
I had to put my nurses hat on this afternoon as Mr Fix It turned over on his ankle. He hasn't done that for quite a while and luckily this time he didn't need the A & E .
I think the highlight of my day was watching next doors cat. She kept running full pelt up the garden to my whirly and hurling herself at the washing. I think she thought she was on a chair-a-plane, as she would hang on the washing by her 2 front paws as the whirly went round :rotfl:. I chased her off several times until she got fed up and thank goodness there was nothing on there that she could spoil .
Newroadahead I hope that your Dad is ok. I shall send some healing vibes his way tonight.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Just keep watering them. You can give them some tomato fertiliser if you wish. The flowers turn into the strawberries.
Evening all,
busy day, had to pop into the vets to pick up Blackuns repeat prescription then on to food shopping.
Came home and Grump went to sleep and has woke up with 'one on him' all because i asked him for £10 to send to my daughter in SA as its one of the little ones birthdays. The things he called her, well he ought to be ashamed of himself...
I will spend the evening in a seperate part of the house tonight.

Hugs.
I managed to get someone round today to have a look at the creeping bamboo the previous owner had planted near the patio and conservatory. He thinks he can get rid of the bamboo and re level and re lay the patio, making a better job of it. Glad I am finally getting to grips with the problem as it has been niggling at me.
Dd and SIL are coming round tomorrow for lunch and taking me to visit oldest so planning baked salmon fillets, green salad and potato salad to eat before we set off. The parcel with maternity clothes has arrived so she can have a look at them while she is here and also the baby travel system.
I had planned to do a few little jobs of clearing up and sorting this afternoon but had four different phone calls from dds and a visit from a neighbour so decided to put things off till tomorrow rather than get stressed and rush around.
Hugs to all0
