Hi All,
Please help, I stupidly ignored a parking charge from PCN from overstaying at McDonalds. I thought they would just stop sending me letters, I have now received a letter from Gladstone’s requesting I pay or it could go to court, I am just about to pay in but just wondered if there is anything I could do to avoid. I know I should of done something earlier and I won’t make the same mistake again but can anyone help me please or shall I just pay.
Many thanks in advance

No you are not!I am just about to pay
If it's only MET Parking (who infest most McDonalds car parks) that's just a debt letter pretending to come from Gladstones...like all these and more:

If it's MET Parking they never sue anyone. Relax! Which parking firm?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you Coupon-Mad for responding, the initial parking charge notice was from GR4, then DRP got involved then Zenith Collections and finally Gladstone’s! I’m half expecting someone to turn up at my house and try to take the TV and that’s why I thought just pay it as I know I should of done something sooner.

No-one will be turning up at your house.
That is, not until a court case has been started and you then lose that case and you then fail to pay what the judge orders you to pay within the timescale specified.
Who are GR4?
Do you perhaps mean G24 Ltd?
Who are Gladstones suggesting you pay?
Zenith and DRP are one and the same company. Have a look at the small print at the bottom of their letter.0 -
Is this the opportunity to send a free SAR to "Gladstones"?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

These are you odds of G24 taking you to court, you would be in a very exclusive club:

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
