Are standard Balance/Money Transfer Offers on your established credit cards fixed, non-negotiable ?
(you've had the cards for many years)

Or can you ask for & receive slightly better deal when you phone to accept an offer ?

You receive the regular Balance/Money Transfer Offers on your established credit cards, you phone to accept an offer, let's say 0% for 15 months, can you ask them to extend to 18 months or 24 months or do they always/normally follow offer as is ?

Do the customer service people processing the offer have power to modify/improve the offer ?

Has anyone tried this & got anywhere, or do customer service just say that is the current offer and it can't be modified ?

I'm curious to know if people have asked and got anywhere.

I have tried previously asking in a side comment way to customer service when arranging a transfer and got nowhere.

I don't want to waste time generally pushing/annoying customer service processing bods if they can't do it or don't have power to do it.

I want to know if other people have done it & got anywhere.

If any deal is available on their system they may offer it to you - but IMO they won't go ''off'' script as it could be a disciplinary matter leading to them losing their job.

I've never heard of negotiation working. What I have seen is people phoning to close their account and an offer which hadn't been given to them before being made to stay. Barclaycard once gave me £50 to keep my card open, when I phoned to close it. Other people have described 0% deals and the interest rate being lowered. (not necessarily Barclaycard)
