It does seem strange to hear of such a significant flight time change at least a month into the summer season.

Flight schedules often change but one of 16 hours difference at this stage in the season I think unusual. Slots normally get approved much earlier for seasonal operations and I would have thought such a significant rescheduling would of been determined Feb/Mar time.

OP - can you tell us the flight number and routing?

If TUI have known about the flight series being rescheduled for some time then I would be very annoyed that they only are telling me less than a week before departure.

Well the problems I have had did not end here!!

They totally lied to me, saying the flight was not cancelled. It was!! It was an Air Europa flight, not TUI. So we could not sit together and we could not sit in the extra leg room seats which we had paid for, because the lay out of the aircraft was different and the extra leg room
Seats were by the emergency exit. Infants are not allowed to sit in these.

Problem is, my boarding card still says the original tui flight number? Depsite this being false. I have a picture of the departure board and the flight number is totally different.

Can I put in a claim under the EU261 form?

    Thanks

What was the flight number, date and routing?

What was the TOM flight number on your boarding card and the UX operating flight number?

Did you get seats together albeit not in the original row?

Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Just because TUI has paid another carrier to operate the flight does not mean it was cancelled.

Hello. This is the flight we should have been on.. seat rows 2,3,4 DEF

As you can see, not at emergency exit seats. However, due to a totally different airline and airplane the seats were different. Tui are refusing to give me money back for the fact I paid for extra leg room seats, was told I’d still be able to have them and I paid for our party to sit together.

We were totally dotted around the plane. And none of us got extra leg room seats?! So the people who didn’t even go for extra leg room got them..

Even at the bag drop I was assured my seats were the extra leg room!

The rep told me the flight was cancelled because of a shortage of staff and a problem with an aircraft?! This is the rep at my hotel

Not on many planes, they usually re space the first few rows of seats and sell them as extra leg room. They are the seats I usually opt for, extra room but still able to have your handbag under the seat in front of you (unless in the first row) .

If the plane operated as planned with the original flight number it wasn't cancelled.

No, they can be row 1/2 as OP's were, or rows in front of a bulkhead half way down the plane in larger aircraft.
