a BIN/best offer glitch

This is not my issue, but a colleague who just called me for advice.
Had a fairly high end item on BIN with Best offer, got a bid which they declined and countered. Buyer then offers a lower amount again which ebay automatically accepted on behalf of the seller.
Seller is adamant that did nothing, they saw the offer and the acceptance before they even looked at their ebay account. phoned ebay who said there is a glitch and seller can cancel using 'buyers address' as a reason if they want.
I've seen mention of this on ebay US a few times, but this is the first time I've seen mention of it on ebay.uk. Some of these glitches could start getting expensive for buyers!

I would guess the buyer is aware of the glitch, as you wouldn't less than originally offered0

Just checked it on our seller account with my personal buying account & luckily its declining on the limits set & allowing us to decline when no limits are set.0
