Which company provided finance for peugeot cars prior to PSA?

I bought a peugeot car on HP in 1997 through the Peugeot dealership.
I am making a ppi claim against PSA who are currently Peugeot Financial services, but they say they only came into existence in January 2002 and so have no record of my earlier purchase.
Does anyone know who provided the finance prior to PSA?

It doesn't matter. You need to complain to the dealer who sold you the PPI.

As mentioned above, PSA have no liability. a) they didnt arrange it b) they didnt exist.

So, you complaint is with the dealer that sold it. Not the finance company. Finance companies have liability when it is their staff that sell it. When staff of another company sell it that company has liability. i.e. the dealer.

However, dealers were not regulated until January 2005. So, a sale in 2002 is pre-regulation and the dealer does not need to consider your complaint and you have no access to the FSCS or FOS.
