Has anyone else been told by their bank that they can't claim back any bank charges prior to 2006?.
I have, yet there are others on the forums who have made successful claims.
Would be interesting to hear any info.
Have escalated my claim to the Ombudsman.

The banks won a court case in 2009.
Bank charges will only be refunded generally speaking, depending on the response of the bank and if you are in CURRENT financial hardship either with a cessation of fees for period of six months, scrapping the interest, or maybe a refund of a few months.
Otherwise, there is no refunding of historic monies.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Im surprised you were given that date. It hasnt been possible to claim back charges SINCE 2009 when the banks won the court case.I have, yet there are others on the forums who have made successful claims.
There have been no posts on this forum for nearly a decade about bank charges being reclaimed except the occasional case where the person was in financial hardship.Have escalated my claim to the Ombudsman.
The Ombudsman state on their website that they do not take complaints about bank charges unless it is an incorrect application of charges.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
