Morning all,

Was nice to meet Youngests new girlfriend last night.... She's pleasant enough but oh so thin and pale and i mean really thin and skin was the colour of milk. They watched films in his room all night. Door wide open (their choice not mine).

Just the ritualistic vacuuming to do today, not much else to do till the men get home tonight.

Onwards and forwards,

have a great day all.

Good morning,

Floss - Thank you for kindly breaking the bad news to me yesterday regarding mares tail. I've now clocked up 12 hours of work, hands on knees picking and digging. We've resigned ourselves that it's not going away so we're getting rid of as much as possible and then will lay down some plastic stuff and cover with fresh compost and top with bark. Should hold for a couple of years.

Yesterday morning, not long after I posted here, I got a call from my mum to tell a story from the night before. My step-dad saw a burglar trying to get into the back door of our neighbours and when he confronted him with our dog, the man put a gun to his head and then threatened to shoot the dog to prove it was real. He then ran away but was later caught by police. Scary stuff.

So I went over last night to see how they're holding up and he's surprisingly fine about it. I don't think the enormity of it all has hit him yet. He was out cleaning the cars so I gave him a hand then helped in the garden again. Fighting a losing battle.

Tonight I've no plans, so I might go to my mums again to help in the garden. Either that or I'll go a run.

camelot - With your sore shoulder, I was picturing you just swimming one-armed going round in circles haha!
Happy holidays to Jackie, RR and SR

Morning everyone,

It’s very muggy and close here, we obviously had a bit of rain during the night but it neither woke me up nor cooled it down at all.
Off to see Lu this morning after a bit of housework, not sure about this afternoon, might pop out to the farm shop at some point but no real plans.
Food wise I picked up some peppered mackerel fillets yesterday so will have those heated up with stir fry veg and maybe rice.
Happy hollibob vibes to all lucky souls off to pastures new, have a good day to all stay at home folk x

Morning everyone....just been enjoying a lazy start to the day with my breakfast in bed and a read back from yesterday. I put the cats blankets in to wash when I got up earlier and can hear them spinning, so I'll have to get up to put them on the line. Sunny here at the minute, but we're forecast rain later.
Yesterday was really foggy and then it cleared and we had a lovely sunny afternoon. I had a nice read in the sun and then cut the grass at the front and pulled all the weeds out from between the paving stones....it looks lovely and tidy now. I still have my pots to fill in the back garden...I might have a walk along to Homebase later to see what they've got. I like to have flowers at the back as that's where I sit as it's nice and private.
Well, I'll probably get more done if I actually get out of bed! Hope everyone has a good day
• Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one.

Happy hols to those of you going away.....Jackie you will not be far from us, had I realised sooner we could have made arrangements to meet up.

We have had rain, but no thunder storms, we were promised thunder and heavy rain last night, nothing at all not even the rain.

One of our MP's is trying to get the Vale designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, I am not sure about this. There are pro's and cons........I agree it is beautiful, I would like it to stay that way, hoards of day trippers would lead to loads of rubbish. There are financial benefits, there are also certain disadvantages extra traffic etc on our already less than perfect roads, planning restrictions and the prospect of house prices rising even higher than they are now.

The gardener came yesterday morning, so the garden is looking good. I am planning a day tomorrow putting plants in the ground has softened a bit, what weeds I cannot get out by hand will get the wand treatment.

WE are off out to visit my quilting friend today, its almost 6 weeks since we last vistied, so plenty to catch up on.

Fish and chips for supper as usual on a Friday.

Morning everyone.

Sunny in Glasgow though thunderstorms feature heavily in the forecast.

Speky - very scary stuff indeed!

My DM is OK, she didn't take the Valium last night and slept right through. Think her pain is easing now. It's pretty awful to see her begin to slowly fade and wither. Sounds terrible but that's the only way I can describe the process. She hasn't got any life-limiting illness or disease. Old age is cruel.

This morning I'm going into the big city. I've got contact lenses to swap for new ones. As my eyesight has improved the ones I have are too strong. The word 'improved' is misleading as it's all down to age apparently - the retina flattens as it looses flexibility, so not all good news!

Happy jollys to those heading off, I hope that all turns out well.

Happy Friday to everyone.

After the last three or four days dashing around in the heat I have decided to have a lazy day. Two big clean laundry baskets need sorting and folding and my bedroom needs a tidy and hoover as well as some more stuff to go in the washing machine and then line dried.

Planning an omelette as a brunch and then salmon and salad for tonight which is nice and easy and does not need any more shopping today.

After spending yesterday afternoon with older twin and buying her a few things I went online and found a couple of maternity tops and dresses for married twin which will be delivered tomorrow. DD and SIL are coming over on Sunday for a quick lunch so she can try the clothes then and keep or return what she decides. She only has a couple more months to go and is finding shopping tiring as she gets bigger so I want to help if I can.

I have had delivery of the baby travel system and they can check the boxes on Sunday before I store them in internal garage for them. They also asked if I could store some pieces of furniture so I am happy to do that.

Have a lovely holiday RedRuby and JackieO.

Hugs to all

My original order of dog food turned up yesterday, I had to sign for it. On DPD's website, t's still showing as signed for last friday. I rang PAH to tell them it had turned up and I now have two lots, he put me on hold and went to speak to his supervisor, came back and said I could keep the second lot for free :D
That's really good; does Scampi know what a lucky boy he is? :D I have to wonder if the other signature was for a totally different, and correctly delivered, order to someone else, but they signed the wrong docket or something?

Speky OMG that really is scary; what on earth is the world coming to? :( I hope your step-dad is ok; the shock probably will hit later, like you say.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Just a quick one from me as I'm going to jump in the shower in a min, as DD is taking me to afternoon tea at a posh hotel as part of my birthday treat :T ( Mr Fix It and DGD are coming too, don't know how they wangled that :rotfl: ) Sil has taken DGS away this weekend, probably to something sports related.
Collected Mr Fix It's prescription this morning and had it filled at the chemist, everything was there for a change :j, then went to Tes*o for some bits and bobs ( including milk and bread again ! ).
TA I hope now the dietitian is on the case, things will get a little better for MR TA.
Speky Thank goodness your stepdad is ok. Probably won't hit him as to what a hero he was for a while yet.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday, whatever they may be doing.
Happy holidays to those going today/tomorrow.
Take care and hugs to all.
