New Style ESA and claiming UC

Does anyone know if I can claim UC if I am claiming new style ESA?

I need help with my childcare costs and it looks like I would be better off claiming UC. Do I just close my ESA claim?

    You can claim UC alongside New Style ESA.
    There should be no reason to cancel your ESA claim.

    UC will calculate your entitlement to UC (including the equivalent of Tax Credits & childcare costs), and then deduct your New Style ESA payments, and you will get the difference paid monthly as your UC payment.

    It may be worth using an online benefits calculator to check entitlement:
