Replacing wireless thermostat?

I have a fault with a Honeywell wireless thermostat. It has a faulty display. The model is CM927.
The question I have, if the thermostat is replaced with a new thermostat that is exactly the same model, does the reciever that connects to the boiler also need to be replaced or can the new thermostat be paired up to the old reciever?

I doubt you'd need to replace the receiver, it should just work with the new thermostat. If not there are instructions to "bind" (pair) the new device to the receiver or relay box.0

Are instructions for binding the new device to the reciever included with the new thermostat or is that something you need to find online?
I've just read the other thread on MSE about this thermostat model (CM927) where other people had a faulty display problem. Some people said they contacted Honeywell and got a replacement free of charge. My thermostat is 4 years old now. Would they likely replace a thermostat that old?0 -
You don't ask you don't get.0

Another question. I've seen on eBay they sell the Honeywell CM927 thermostat with the reciever. Will that still be able to be binded to the old receiver or do I require a standalone thermostat that doesn't come with a reciever?0

Obvious question. Have you changed the batteries in the sender unit? Low voltage will cause display issues.0

Yes, I've changed the batteries. I've read online that the faulty display is a common problem with the Honeywell CM927 and usually happens after about 3-4 years.
I've seen a tutorial video on YouTube where someone dismantles the thermostat then puts about 4 clips on the display and puts it over a toaster to heat it and firm the connection to the display. That doesn't seem like something people should have to do at all.0
