Video Ipod - problem loading films

Hi I have 30gb video Ipod. I am able to put songs and photos on, but for some reasons I cant load videos on it? any idea. of course I use the Ipod software, but it just does not want to move it on my ipod. I suspect that it needs to be appropriate format, but wnt the software change it?most of my movies are avi formatm, so how can I add them or change film format - if I would like to put my dvds on my ipod?

Avi's will need to be re-encoded to mp4 format ( H.264 or MPEG-4), while DVD's will need an extra step first.

iTunes can't do it for you.

ok, here's the simplest, easiest tool I know of to convert most video formats into Ipod friendly video

All you do is unzip the program and drag your video file onto the ipoddrop.exe file. A little black box will pop up telling you how long it will take and the current progress.

Other than that, there are no settings to enter before you process it. No user guide cos it's that damn simple.

I use it because it's exceptionally fast - It will take about 25 minutes on my PC to convert a full movie into ipod format.
