How long to process an issued FPN

Hi all, I recently got pulled over for speeding (40 in a 30 limit) and issued a Fixed Penalty Notice for £100 and 3 points payable within 28 days. Now I went in to the court to pay it 48 hours after it was issued and was told it wasnt in the system and I would have to wait untill it had been processed by the police before I could pay it. I tried again today (now 8 days after the offence) and was told the same thing. How long realistically should ut take the police to process this? Its not the most convenient of places for me to get to to pay it so i dont fancy having to keep going back repeatedly on the off chance the police will have put it in that day. Also if in the unlikley event it doesnt go into the system before my 28 days to pay is up, what then?!?

Unusual to have a fon for speeding
My suggestion is you go to pepipoo.com, register, and go to the criminal section. Upload pictures of the documents you have.0 -
How is it unusual?? I thought it was fairly common for a Fixed Penalty for a fine and penalty points to be issued for speeding offences.0

It's unusual to get one at the road side
Usually they are CoFP and issued later , and are not the same as a FPN.
As I said, go to pepipoo and the criminal forum there. Nowhere else. Have DETAILS ready, and make sure any terms you use are exact - no guessing.0 -
Police have been known not to input fixed penalties into the courts finance system. Don't chase them (Police), just call at the payment office regular, make yourself known so they remember you and get the persons name in case they try to say you've not paid when you have tried without success.
As above you can ask the question on pepipoo.com in the speeding section.
You can also keep a check on your licence status via DVLA website to see if the points get added. If they are not on your licence after six week you may be one of the very few lucky ones.0
