    If your wife has never had any credit in her own name BUT your joint bank account DOES have an overdraft facility BUT it was opened many years ago thus pre-dating whenever it was - I forget now - that banks defaulted to assuming your consent to pass data to CRAs, your wife will almost certainly not be known to any CRAs. The trick in this case is for you & your wife to each contact the bank and give them your consents to pass data to CRAs. Worked for us a couple of years ago when Mrs. S. was found to be "non existent"! She now "exists"...

    Thanks everyone, still trying, but I now find that even though we have been voting for over 40 years in council and elections, my credit rating shows I am not on the electoral role, nor is my wife.The upshot is that I am being refused a credit card now, probably due to the electoral role addresss being at odds.
