I have MBNA CC and two other debit cards. They do not have the wavy line symbol next to the wifi symbol. How do I know by looking at them if they are? Thanks.

Thanks for your time.

Ring the bank and ask or try and use the card to pay contactless would be the easiest options

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I have an MBNA contactless credit card, and a couple of other current accounts that are all contactless and they just have this on them:

Sounds like you're saying you have another symbol next to the contactless one though?

    Wi-Fi on a credit card?

The contactless symbol is as shown by Lewys in the post above.

Yeah - with the Call-Us cc you can now speak directly to customer services from your credit card.

If the cards have the symbol shown in post 3 they are contactless.
If you are still in doubt, just try to use them contactless and see what happens.

The symbol could also be on the back of the card.

Why don't you take a photo, blank out your name and the last bit of the number and upload a photo to the thread for the experts to have a look at. There shouldn't be a WiFi symbol on the card.

If you have a smart phone, load up an NFC reader turn on NFC on your phone and see if you can read it. In fact read a contactless card and you'll be amazed at what it shows, now imagine a criminal reading your card(s)

Sleep tight folks, it'll all be okay
