Hi... I would be interested in hearing from anybody who has had dealings with a company named ENVIROTHERM based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. This company did a quote for some building works for my elderly parents. My parents decided not to go ahead with the work and cancelled within the 14day cooling off period. On the 13th day the company contacted my parents to inform them that they could not do the work for the agreed price of £1,350 pounds and it would be £400 more. My parents explained that they had already cancelled, however three months down the line they have yet to receive their money. During this period the company sent two employees to my parents house and explained that if they paid some more money to have some alternative work carried out "there was a good chance that they would be able to get their original funds received"...REALLY? I have now got involved with this but yet to receive the money. The company has dodgy links to a guy named Jason Rowan who appeared on Watchdog for running a similar company where he was exploiting elderly and vulnerable members of the public. According to companies house Mr Rowan resigned as director in Dec 2017 but its pretty clear whats going on here. I intend exposing this company.

This should be in Praise, Vents and Warnings.0

How was the money paid? Cash, Cheque, C/Card?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I'm also in the process of taking Envirotherm to the small claims court to try and get my deposit back. If you want to join forces then let me know. If we can both prove that they make a habit of not returning deposits then it could help our cases.0

Glamdring hasnt been back on since end of may, chances of him returning are t0%. Alot of new posters start a new thread and just dont bother returning.0 -
I too am seriously concerned on behalf of a neighbour. She has paid a substantial deposit and after some basic ground work there has been a delay of weeks and no contact from the Company. Additionally of great concern is every phone number I have tried for them today including the one on the sales documentation is dead, disconnected.0

Hi all,
I discovered yesterday that my elderly next door neighbour has very recently paid out a substantial deposit to Envirotherm for driveway works that were planned to be undertaken this month. She has tried calling and emailing but had zero luck in making contact.
I've tried all of the same numbers and none are in use. Have you guys had any feedback on your claims or could you offer any next steps please?
