Amex card delivery time

Hi,

I applied for the Platinum Everyday Cashback card from American Express, and got the "unable to make a decision now" email. Rang them up this morning, and I've been told "accepted, cards on their way". Which is great, since I have some appliances to buy, and am looking to take advantage of the 5% cashback in the first 3 months (up to £100), and then 1% after that.

However, as life would have it, some of the items I might have to buy this Saturday already, and I'm assuming the card won't arrive before Monday, however I thought I might ask if anyone has applied recently, and how long did they wait for their cards?

Allow up to 10 days for PIN and card.

Quite quickly, normally within a couple of days - the only one which has taken me longer was the Costco card, presumably as they have to print your mugshot on the back.

I applied for the Platinum charge card on 23rd and it arrived on the 26th. The PIN arrived couple of days later, but I was able to activate the card and view the PIN in the Amex app straight away. In fact the "your card is on its way" email arrived a day after the card did!

48 hours after for Amex for me, way quicker than anyone else.

Thanks for your replies, turns out this thing is quite fast indeed. Applied in the evening of 29th, rang them on 30th in the morning, got told I was accepted, and the cards arrived today, so all in all quite good!

I applied for this.. you need to spend £3000 in a year to get the cashback if I read the T&Cs correctly.
