Unbelievably high Energy bills (£500+ pm)

Part of the issue is you are using more during the day than at night. If you are on an E7 tariff it's cheaper at night but you pay a premium during the day. I would guess the problem is caused by you using heaters during the day but you say you are out all day.
Have you checked the readings are the correct way round?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

I have conducted several tests with the meter, turning things off and watching it, and even switching the entire ring off (apart from fridge) while we where away for 3 weeks, only then did I not see it go up as much but it still went up 250+ units.
If there really was nothing turned on but a fridge and it used 250 units in 21 days, that is more than 10 units per day. That is what our entire house uses. Yes, we have gas central heating but cook with electricity so your one fridge uses more than every electric appliance we have put together, lights and all? No, it does not seem possible and I too suspect either the immersion heater, transposed day/night readings or both.
As others have said, you really need to own this and deal with it. You could begin by going straight over the head of the drone on the phone to its manager but it might be an idea to insist your heaters are checked as well. Good luck.0 -
Is the hot water via a hot water tank? If so was it completely turned off during the period when you were all away? If not then that would use some electricity over a period of two weeks even if you were away.
I would take say hourly meter readings over a period of a day and monitor exactly what appliances are on (including items such as hot water).Indecision is the key to flexibility
