Sky Mobile

I have been trying to search the internet in regards whether or not Sky Mobile is an irresponsible lender.
Before I start I understand that I have took these out but there are circumstances, the point I want to make is that there were no safegaurding in place

26/11/17 - At a cost of £780.00 (£26 per month)
29/12/17 - At a cost of £780.00 (£26 per month)
08/01/18 - At a cost of £618.00 (£21 per month)
03/02/18 - At a cost of £1272.00 (£42 per month)
28/02/18 - At s cost of £729.00 (£25 per month)
So in the space of approx 90 days Sky allowed me to take out 5 contracts with brand new mobiles, total cost £4179.00 and a monthly charge of £140 per month. Contacted Sky and they said they performed credit checks on me and I passed everytime, im not sure how as im over £10000 in debt. Also checked credit reference agencie and only 2 checks were carried out but no affordability checks. I just want to know is it irresponsible lending?

If you passed their risk criteria, then it's now their concern. They will price according to their default rate.

You would know better than them whether you could afford them.
  • Do you mean you want to try and cancel them without any fee's or charges and make a compensation claim for irresponsible lending?

    No. Irresponsible borrowing.

But as long as you keep up repayments, you'll be ok.

You could be buying them for children to use, or other relatives. Or employees. There are a lot of possibilities. If you passed their affordability criteria its a legitimate contract.
