Insurance advice
Hi all I am new the the forum and have a question as I can not seem to find an answer.
I have a work van which I can only use in working hours only.
A week ago on my day off the work van was hit in the back by the emergency service on call.the van was park up on my road and I was 100miles away withy family iny own personal car.
Do I have to let my own personal car insurance company know what happened to my work van ?
Any help would be great as I am not sure what to do

TBH I would say no.
The usual question is
Have you any claims or accidents
The OP has neither claimed nor had an accident.0 -
If you didn!!!8217;t tell them, I doubt your personal insurer would know as i presume the van is insured by your company and the claim would be presented by your company.0

There will be another word in that question - "loss" - if the van was insured in a persons name then they would have to declare it, if it was in the name of a company only then no, if it was Mr Blog t/as Blogs and Co then I would ask the insurer as it would be a little grey.
Obviously if their van got repaired at no cost to the OP then it would be a non fault so only a minimum (if any) loading would be applied.0 -
Assuming you are just a named driver on someone elses policy then no you don't0
