I got one from Asda several months ago to replace a 4 year old one.
Brilliant piece of equipment at a very good price.
    I think the RRP is £50.00 !!!

They're ok, but I would say they are very dear for what they are. And the proper tests still has the oral b brush action as the most efficient.

I wouldn't throw it away, but make sure you change the head regularly, and I wouldn't get a new one when it eventually dies.

I would never have paid for it myself, but I'm worried now its not doing the job well enough! Well I'm at the hygienist beginning of July so we'll see what her verdict is.

I've had it less than 6 months.

I've been using Oral B for more or less as long as they've been around (my goodness they were expensive then!). My current dentist asked me what I used and when I told her bog standard Oral B she simply said there is no better.

They are always on at least half price offer somewhere, the RRP is really nonsense - you never, ever have to pay what they allege is the real price.

We're back on Oral Bs after a few years with Sonicares. TBH I don't like the feel of the Oral B but DH prefers it, so to save having to keep two chargers on hand, I'm living with the Oral B.

One irritation is that the lead on the charger of the Oral B is about 6" shorter than on the Sonic. So it doesn't reach from the windowsill to the socket, and is now perched more or less precariously on an upturned plastic container.
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Ancient Oral B Triumph with the brusheads replaced as normal here. Works great, everything bought when on half price/33% off, definitely paid off in terms of gum health.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I switched from Sonicare to Oral B about 2 years ago. During that time, my gum health detioriorated. Could be coincidence of course but I've now gone back to Sonicare and I prefer it, my mouth seems to feel cleaner after brushing.

I've still got the Oral B though, so maybe I'll hedge my bets and alternate between the two!

The reason why I recommend oral b is because they have a small round head.
In general most people do not move the toothbrush around all the corners of their mouth and most do not brush their gum line as well the teeth. A small head makes it easier to get into the nooks and crannies.

The second important thing is to clean inbetween the teeth. A toothbrush can't do this and you will have to use either interdental brushes like types or floss. 40% of the tooth is not cleaned if you don't get in between the tooth and this is where most people get the start of gum disease.

Brooksmith, that is one reason I buy the smaller heads for the Sonicare. Did not even know they existed for a long time? I can get right back in my mouth and round my teeth with these. When I first bought my brush a friend showed me to aim at a slight angle up or down towards the gums when cleaning.
