Seems quite expensive and I'm not a fan of sonic brushes.

I had a spare 5 mins and just looked at the website, and a live chat box popped up.

Apparently 1 AAA battery will last 2 months too!!! Considering how often you have to charge an ordinary (and expensive) sonic brush like a Phillips, which has a more powerful battery than a AAA - I would be hugely surprised if one AAA could deliver any meaningful toothbrushing action for 2 whole months!!

It's a new 'sonic pulse' technology, live chat lady said - but I am with Scotty from Star Trek on this one "Ye canna change the laws of physics!"

Get a £60 Oral B when you find it on half price offer - and it's a good, uncomplicated, electric toothbrush with proper scientific studies backing up the effectiveness of the cleaning action. And just make sure you replace the head every 8-10 weeks.

They are the ones I go for, just replaced one after 8 or 9 years and I was just so confused with so many on sale now. I thought simple is easy

Are the Philips sonicare ones no good then? I got one for Christmas and thought it was alright!

They're ok, but I would say they are very dear for what they are. And the proper tests still has the oral b brush action as the most efficient.

I wouldn't throw it away, but make sure you change the head regularly, and I wouldn't get a new one when it eventually dies.

I have had my Philips Sonicare for 8 years still going strong. Bought it in Boots with 60% off have an idea it was around £40+. I get the smaller heads on subscribe and Save from Amazon. The smaller head means I can get at the back of my mouth easily.



I had an Oral B before bought a number of times over the years, the cheaper one I got only lasted just over its guarantee period before dying. The first one I bought was expensive well to me but lasted 10 years. The reason I got a Sonicare was friends kept telling me sonic is better.

I have the oral b one and just getting use to my first electric brush, i find it quite messy though.
