Would you buy this laptop

It's seems like a very good bargain, but the seller is new and has no feedback.

Would I be covered by Paypal and my Credit card id I dont receive the laptop?

thanks for the reply but I am a bit confused.

Would Paypal guarrantee work only if the money stays in the seller's account. (I wouldn't call it guarranty in this case)

thats right, thats where the refund comes from. they dont actually refund money to you.
just ask all of those who have recived a 99p refund for a much greater amount.
myself ive had it twice for sub £20 losses.however it might not be all the time as ive heard people mention having a negative PP balance but may depend on circumstances.

why not ask if you can collect in person, always a good way to probe a seller
or ask for say a picture of the bottom ports, rear connections etc.at least then you know if they actually have a laptop

    This.
If it's too good to be true it usually is.
Would you buy it if someone offered you it in the pub, because that's possibly the same kind of chance you'd have of getting a decent refund if things go pear shaped.

Buy expensive items from reputable sellers/shops with guarantee/warranty.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

Sorry to be thick but I remember an ebay seller complaining on this board about Paypal, because it reversed a transaction after she sent the item. Her Paypal account was overdrawn and paypal sent debt collectors after her!

This means Paypal can reverse a transaction even if the money was withdrawn!

Actually, this is precisely my question.
To what extent would I be protected by Paypal and CC.

Reading from above, it seems I will not be protected.

they can but often thats when the creditcard company has taken the cash back from them so they are trying to recoup
i wouldnt rely on the CC given its unlikely you get goods and even after a refund the scammer is still getting money

The paypal protection is up to £150.

The price is more than £150.

CC might refund as the last resort, but one has to wonder how a new seller happens to have a brand new laptop lying around that they don't want.
