You can have two of the regular savers: one each. After you've filled up the three FlexDirect accounts you can then move another £500 each month into the regular savers. On the five Nationwide accounts combined, you would earn a little over £536 in interest in the first year. Plus you would have whatever was left in the Tesco account earning interest too.
Don't forget that after a year the FlexDirect accounts drop to 1% interest, so you will probably want to find a new home for that money, but don't either of you leave Nationwide as you can still open another regular saver, and keep doing so each year.0 -
I'm not even sure of what I want to be honest, just to maximise the money...
Then spread around. Repay some debt, retain cash for the short and medium terms, while also saving for the longer term i.e. pension. Life is unpredictable. No one can tell you what the future has in store.0 -
Thanks again, think I've finally got my head round it all. Gonna maybe use 5-7k for the S&S ISA, and then spread the rest round the FlexDirect and regular savers. While also hoping to use my increased salary to overpay (a little) on the mortgage, and increase my AVCs.0
