Sky Q Television - Multiscreen extension

Hi.
I was wondering if anybody has any experience and therefore able to comment on the following.
I currently have Sky HD in the living room with a multiscreen setup in the bedroom, using another Sky HD box in which recordings can also be made.
I want a Sky Q box on the main television downstairs however my girlfriend sometimes records on our bedroom Sky HD. Sky have stated that you either take total the complete Sky Q setup or nothing at all. Wifi in the bedroom is useless.
My main question is if I allow the complete Sky Q setup in both rooms will I be able to put the HD box setup back in the bedroom afterwards, just ignoring the Q box completely?
Do the Sky Q mini boxes have an ethernet connectivity? I have wiring running already.
Can you record straight onto the miniboxes, or is just onto the main box?
Thank you , Dennis.

Thank you Browntoa, that makes perfect sense. I think I'll stick to my old setup then.

The way it works, as far as I can tell, is all the recordings happen on the main Sky Q box which are viewable via the Sky Q Mini, so in other words you wont be losing any functionality that you currently have as your gf will still be able to set up and view recording from the bedroom.

The Sky Q hub has a much better wifi coverage than the standard sky hub with dual band so it shouldn't be much of an issue streaming between the main and mini boxes.

Thank you Neil, that makes good sense and is useful, specifically the wifi coverage piece, that is my main concern.
